Dear Principals,

We are providing a toolkit of materials intended for your use when holding community meetings with your school communities. On April 12th, Superintendent Deasy presented a longer version of the attached materials to the Board of Education. This was sent to you earlier but now we are providing a more thorough toolkit that I hope will make it easier to use.

The materials in this toolkit include:

A budget deficit address from Superintendent Deasy,
A 2011-12 budget crisis PowerPoint presentation in PDF and a video of the PowerPoint presentation with narrative,
A 2011-12 budget overview flyer with information on the budget crisis.

All of these materials are available in both English and Spanish and can be accessed from the links on this page.

We encourage you to sponsor meetings with your stakeholder communities and partners to discuss these materials during the upcoming weeks. We need to educate everyone on the issues at stake and challenges we face as a District as well as providing some guidance on how everyone can help.
